BLACK CESAR
The summer of 2006 saw the Amalgamation of 3 like minded spirits. Long time friends of the South Wales Punk/Stoner/Doom scene, guitarist Clint and bassist Clem - ex members of the legendary Mondo Trans Shop came together with drummer Chris who had been the driving force behind the Doom titans Diabolo, Disco Assassins, The Cull and currently the bassist in Taint and Set Forth This Alliance...With Fire!
Solomon Kane was born. Unfortunately after a few shows they had to change their name and settled on Black Cesar, after a 17th Century Haitian pirate. The early stages of the Black Cesar saw close friend Aziz Ibsule, the frontman from Cardiff legends Channel 9 on vocals, however, years of loud riff damage to his ears give him severe tinitus and he had to gracefully and sadly bow out. A decision was finally made to stay as an instrumental unit, letting the music speak for itself.
Recently Black Cesar have become 4 and risen to an entirely new level with the addition of another ex Mondo Trans Shop member, George on lap steel guitar and shows with Raging Speedhorn, Shaped By Fate, Zonderhoof, Future Of The Left and Crippled Black Pheonix have heralded an explosive new dawn for the band.
Lately, Black Cesar have been receiving radio play from Adam Walton on his Sunday night BBC Radio Wales show and were one of Rock Sound magazines top 100 bands to see in 2008!
Black Cesar recently recorded exclusive tracks in a Bristol studio for their 7" vinyl split single with Zonderhoof on Seven Inch Records which is due for release in Jan 09.
